Kim Hyoyeon 김효연 is the main dancer and main rapper of SNSD.

Hyoyeon was born on Friday, September 22, 1989, in Incheon.

Like fellow members Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, and Yuri, she was born in the Chinese Year of the Snake.  She’s a Virgo.  She’s 160 cm or 5'3" tall.  Hyoyeon and Yuri’s blood type is AB.

She speaks Mandarin, like Taeyeon, Yuri, Yoona, and Seohyun.

She has a younger brother named Kim Mingu.

Hyoyeon auditioned for S.M. Entertainment in 2000, when she was 11 years old.  In 2004, she was went to Beijing to study Mandarin along with Super Junior’s Siwon.  Before debut, she worked with Janet Jackson; she was BoA’s silhouette dancer during a performance at Mnet’s KM Music Festival 2005.

In December 2016, she released her first solo song with “Mystery” through SM Station.

As SNSD’s main dancer, she can memorize a dance move or routine simply by watching it once or twice.  She knows a variety of disciplines, like jazz, ballet, hip-hop, belly dancing, and popping and locking.

She’s very interested in fashion; one of her fashion icons is Jennifer Lopez.

Her best friends are miss A’s Min and f(x)’s Amber.

She’s usually the one who wakes up the other members.  They scold her in their sleep (especially Tiffany and Yoona) but apologize once they’re awake.
