Woollim Entertainment 울림엔터테인먼트 was founded on October 1, 2003, by Lee Jungyeop.
The label was home to hip-hop group Epik High and indie rock band Nell. Its current roster of artists includes idol groups Infinite, Lovelyz, and Golden Child. It also manages solo artist Joo and actors like Kim Minseok.
In August 2013, Woollim merged with S.M. Entertainment's subsidiary S.M. Culture & Contents (S.M. C&C) to create an independent label, Woollim Label.
On March 21, 2016 SM C&C announced that it decided to separate its video content business from its music content business. SM C&C will establish Woollim Entertainment to handle its music content business, with SM C&C owning all stocks of the company. The partition came into effect on June 8, 2016.
