FNC Entertainment’s first dance boy group, SF9, is back shortly after last year’s debut with their first mini-album, Burning Sensation. After gaining success and popularity from NEOZ School and their debut single album, the boys keep up momentum and aim for the top with their latest title track, Roar. Get ready to feel the burning sensation and roar with SF9 in this high-energy album.
Opening the album is a mid-tempo number that starts off mysteriously due to the subtle piano and synths paired with the low voice rap. Though the transition from the first verse to the chorus sounds a bit off due to the sudden beat drop, Tell Me What It Is makes me curious to find out what the rest of the album will be like.
The title track, Roar, starts smoothly with digital synths and a very catchy beat. It then transitions to a tougher spirit with edgy rap and energetic danceable backbeats in the chorus. The track is well composed, putting the right elements where they belong, like its gleaming synths that are not overwhelming and its well-timed beat drops that break up the flow of the song.
