  About Rena  레나

Rena 레나 is the main rapper and lead dancer of Pristin.

Rena was born Kang Yebin 강예빈 on Monday, October 19, 1998, in Seoul.

Like fellow members Eunwoo and Kyulkyung, she was born in the Chinese Year of the Tiger.  Her zodiac star sign is Libra.  She’s 162 cm or 5'4" tall.  Her blood type is A.

She attended DreamVocal Vocal Academy.  She auditioned for TS Entertainment in 2012.  She was a Pledis trainee for 4 years.

She was a backup dancer in Orange Caramel’s music video for “My Copycat” and appeared in Seventeen’s music video for “Mansae.”  She was on the fourth season of “Show Me the Money,” but was eliminated in the second round.  She was so nervous about being on the show that when the writer passed her the microphone, she was shaking so much that he had to warn her, “Don’t drop the microphone!”  For a while after “Show Me the Money,” she was stressed out about forgetting lyrics.  She competed on “Produce 101” and made it into the top 35.

She plays the guitar and drums.  Recently, her brother began to play the drums as a hobby.  She went to his practice room to revive her own skills, but she’s lost some of her ability, so she’s not confident enough to play in front of fans yet.

Her role model is Lee Hyori.  She gets energy from watching Hyori, even just on YouTube.  For fun, she watches videos of international pop artists.  She’s good at memorizing lyrics quickly.

Her favorite food is ramen.

She gets cold easily in the winter and always wears multiple layers of clothes.  Those thick, layered clothes earned her the nickname “snowman” in middle school.
