Kim Donghyun 김동현 is the leader and main vocal of Boyfriend.
Donghyun was born on Sunday, February 12, 1989. He’s Boyfriend’s oldest member, older than the maknae, Minwoo, by 6 years, 5 months, and 19 days.

He majored in musical science at Myongji University. Like Youngmin and Minwoo, he speaks Japanese. He and Minwoo are the members most fluent in English. He’s very close to his parents. He has an older sister.
Donghyun was a trainee for five years.
In the dorm, he shared a room with Minwoo and Hyunseong. As the oldest member and the leader, he likes to give advice to his members, and scolds them when necessary because he wants them to do their best.
He plays the piano and used to dream of becoming a pianist. During his trainee days, he played the piano so the other trainees could practice their vocals. He says that K.Will taught him to sing.
Along with Youngmin and Kwangmin, he was in label mate Sistar’s music video for “Push Push.” Before debut, the three of them and Minwoo performed as backup dancers for K.Will. Also before debut, he was on “Star Golden Bell.”
He became a fan of Jay Chou after watching Secret.
Before doing something, Donghyun takes the time to think it over first. According to HyunSeong, anything that Donghyun does he does with caution, so whatever he does he does well. He’s very forgetful. He’s a troublemaker and a very curious person. He’s the funniest member of the group and likes doing gags. He’s the most fashion-conscious member. He thinks that his face looks funny when he sings.
He loves sports and uses his free time to go jogging. He works out with Hyunseong. He says that if he had a day off, he would just get in the car and drive without a destination.
He visited Indonesia once as a child and wishes to go there again.
Once when he was sleeping on the bottom bunk and Youngmin was sleeping on the upper bunk, the top bunk crashed down on him.
He once said, “Fans are like our own girlfriends. There are times they prepare delicious food for us when we’re on our way to a TV station. We are really thankful to them.”
