  About Kyuhyun  규현

Jo Kyuhyun 조규현 is the maknae and main vocal of Super Junior.

Kyuhyun was born on Wednesday, February 3, 1988, in Nowon-gu, Seoul.

He was born in the Chinese Year of the Hare.  He’s an Aquarius.  He’s 180 cm or 5'11" tall.  Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Sungmin, and Donghae’s blood type is A.

Kyuhyun majored in post-modern music at Kyung Hee University; Kangin studied at Kyung Hee Cyber University.  Kyuhyun, Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, and Donghae speak Japanese.  All of the members can speak some Mandarin.  His father is a company chairman.  His sister, Ahra, is three years older than he is.  During a “Shim Shim Tapa” radio broadcast in March of 2009, he apologized to his sister, who was studying abroad, for being busy and not taking the time to talk to her when she called him.  He’s Christian.

Initially, Kyuhyun intended to become a lawyer.  When he wanted to pursue a career in music, his father said that he’d have to pass his university entrance exams first; he did.  He came in third at the Chin Chin Singing Competition in 2005.  He made his first professional appearance as a part-time model in a news broadcast for Super Junior in May of 2006.  He debuted in Super Junior that year.  Kyuhyun joined Super Junior in 2006.  He’s a member of the sub-units Super Junior-K.R.Y. and Super Junior-M.  He was also in SM the Ballad.  He plays the clarinet, piano, and harmonica.  Along with Siwon, Donghae, and Ryeowook, he’s one of the first Korean musicians to appear on a Chinese postage stamp.  In May 2014, he starred in Singin’ in the Rain with SNSD’s Sunny.

His favorite food is pork chops.  He likes to play videogames and read books, but not comic books.  He snores loudly.

On April 19, 2007, Kyuhyun was in a car accident.  Leeteuk, Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Super Junior’s managers were in the van.  Eunhyuk and Shindong’s injuries were not serious; Leeteuk needed stitches.  Kyuhyun was very gravely injured.
