Lovelyz 러블리즈 is a female idol group formed in 2014 by Woollim Entertainment. It is the company's first girl group. Lovelyz consists of eight members: Baby Soul, Jiae, Jisoo, Mijoo, Kei, Jin, Sujeong, and Yein. Their debut album, Girls' Invasion, was released on November 17, 2014.
On November 5, 2014, Lovelyz' debut was first announced by Woollim Entertainment. Prior to debut, Seo Jisoo withdrew for personal reasons. On November 10, Lovelyz released the digital single "Good Night Like Yesterday." Their debut showcase was on November 12 at the K-ART Hall in Olympic Park, and their debut stage was the next day on "M Countdown." Lovelyz' debut album Girls' Invasion with lead single "Candy Jelly Love" were released on November 17. The album ranked ninth on Taiwan's Five Music Korea-Japan weekly chart and first on Japan's Tower Records albums chart.
On December 21, the group took part in SBS' annual music festival "Gayo Daejeon" for the festival's segment Strong Babies which featured newly debuted Kpop groups. Lovelyz performed "Candy Jelly Love" and "Moves Like Jagger" along with Red Velvet, Winner, and Got7.
Lovelyz released a repackage edition of Girls' Invasion titled Hi~ on March 3. It contained the original tracks from Girls' Invasion along with two new songs including the single of the same name. They made their comeback stage, performing "Hi~" and "Joyland," on March 5 on the music program "M Countdown." On April 17, Lovelyz continued promotions on music shows with the other new song from their repackaged edition, "Amusement Park." They continued promotions until April 30. On April 22, Lovelyz participated in the KCON 2015 Japan "M Countdown" show in front of 15,000 people. It was their first overseas activity. On May 23, the group performed at Dream Concert in the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
On August 27, Lovelyz performed at the Korea Brand and Entertainment Expo in Shanghai along with Infinite. On the same day, Woollim Entertainment announced that Jisoo would be rejoining the group, and announced the mini-album Lovelyz8 through their official Twitter page.
Lovelyz' pre-release single, "Shooting Star," was released on September 14. Following that, their second extended play, Lovelyz8, was released on October 1, 2015. It contained seven tracks including "Shooting Star" and lead single "Ah-Choo." The music video for "Ah-Choo" was released in the same day with a cameo appearance by Infinite's Hoya.
On October 31, Lovelyz was a guest on Yoo Heeyeol's "Sketchbook," where they performed an a cappella cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It." The performance was broadcast on the American Fox News Channel and written about by other foreign media. "Ah-Choo" maintained its position on most major Korean music charts through 2015 and into 2016, making it Lovelyz' biggest hit.
Lovelyz held their first fan meeting and mini-concert, Lovely Day, on December 5 at Ax Korea. The tickets were sold out in the first five minutes after they went on sale. On December 7, Lovelyz released the three-track single album Lovelinus, after the name of their official fan club. They also released a music video for "For You" on the same day.
Lovelyz' first reality show, "Lovelyz in Wonderland," began airing February 2 on SBS MTV. Their song "Ah-Choo" continued to remain on digital Korean music charts long after its release in September.
Lovelyz released their second mini-album, A New Trilogy, on April 25, 2016. The album contains seven tracks with lead single "Destiny," which debuted at number seven on the Gaon Digital Chart, making it their highest charting song so far.
In November 2016, Lovelyz announced their first concert, Lovelyz in Winterland, at the Blusquare Samsung Card Hall from January 13-15. At the concert it was revealed that Lovelyz would make a comeback in February.
